The resolution, proposed by Ghana, urges UN member states to consider apologizing for the slave trade and contributing to a reparations fund, without specifying a particular amount. The resolution passed with 123 votes in favor and three against, cast by the United States, Israel, and Argentina, while 52 countries abstained, including the United Kingdom and the member states of the European Union.
